Deaf Aotearoa - Auckland

The staff at Deaf Aotearoa Auckland serve the community of Deaf people from its base in Avondale through culturally rich language-affirming services. Through its Deaf-led structure, the organisation activates access to New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and equal access as well as inclusion across all sections of society. The organisation performs a fundamental function by eliminating communication barriers through its delivery of NZSL information while developing Deaf leadership capabilities.

Services Offered:
• NZSL Access & Promotion: The team actively promotes and delivers access to New Zealand Sign Language resources and training.
• Deaf Community Advocacy: The organisation works to defend the rights of Deaf people throughout their educational phase along with healthcare services, employment opportunities and public services.
• Employment & Training Services: Staff provide job support, career planning, and Deaf-friendly employer connections.
